Essay on Lohri Festival 

Lohri is one of those festivals in India which holds historical significance. It is a festival of harvest. 

The festival is celebrated in mid-January in the Indian states of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. 

It bids farewell to winter and celebrates the arrival of the spring. People believe that after the day of Lohri, the days start becoming longer and the nights shorter.  

Lohri is celebrated on the night before Makar Sankranti. It is considered to be the coldest night of the year. 

This festival marks the end of winter season. After Lohri, the night becomes shorter and the days get longer. 

People are filled with joy during Lohri. It also signifies the harvest season. Farmers come together and thank the Lord for the good harvest of the year.
